Chatbots like ChatGPT are only the start. What happens when AI can think for itself? The show explores the dangers and the promises of artificial general intelligence (AGI): from disinformation and social inequality to smarter governance and stronger defenses. How to increase revenue, decrease cost and decrease risk and other detrimental effects in this Digital Age, in an ethical and accountable manner? Does AI design, deployment and use fit in 21st Century ESG requirements, for instance bias-wise, or energy consumption-wise? Who should be at the table to discuss and address detrimental impact and net-benefits? Where each has it’s own interests, values and semantics; how to enable that each at the table understand each other? These and many other key topics are addressed in this Dialogue.

When is policy enough, or too much? What are the differences between the various global, regional and local policy initiatives on AI? Where originate these differences from? And, where that takes quite some time; what is the biggest accountability gap today and how to address it, today? And, how to demonstrate ethical, transparent and other diligent designing, engineering, deploying, use and optimising?

Melissa Govender discusses the role of Access Partnership’s AI policy lab to discuss AI policy development with the various stakeholders.
