Clementina Barbaro

Clementina Barbaro is the Co-Secretary of the newly established Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence of the Council of Europe (CoE).

The mandate of the Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence of the Council of Europe is to examine the feasibility and the potential elements of a legal framework for the development, design and application of AI, based on CoE standards on human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

Clementina is also the Secretary of the CEPEJ Working Group on the Quality of Justice. In this capacity, she has been closely involved in the elaboration of the CEPEJ Ethical Charter on the use of artificial intelligence in judicial systems and their environment, which is the first ever document on this issue in Europe and in the world.
