Kathalijne Buitenweg

Member of Parliament in the Netherlands in the subcommittees for Justice, Security, Police and Intelligence Service.

Kathalijne Buitenweg is member of the national parliament, and deputy leader of the Dutch Green Party, since 2017. She is also chairman of the Temporary committee on the Digital Future.

From 1999-2009 she was a member of the European Parliament. Her main focus has been on justice and police cooperation, on equal opportunities and tackling discrimination. In the years between she was a Commissioner of the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights. In 2016 she obtained her PhD at the law faculty of the University of Amsterdam.
