How can accountable AI, data and related digital systems support or even improve the quality of life? How about the quality of life for persons such as post-cure cancer patients? Why does (EU Horizon) project ASCAPE focus on that? Are patient comfortable enough to share their personal data? How to cater for that? How, when and on what to inform them? Who makes the decisions? Who is accountable for the AI, including input provenance, algorithms, throughput, output and related impact? This, also looking at the ecosystem needed, such as technology providers, data providers/processors, physician, medical specialist, hospital, pharmaceutical or other? What next in or beyond project ASCAPE?

Antonios Valachis is Associate Professor of Oncology since 2018 and senior consultant at the Department of Oncology, Örebro University Hospital.  He is the Clinical partner of the ASCAPE project.
