What brings AI to the 5 P’s of the UN: people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership? Why will UN set up a separate agency to address AI? Is AI a risk, an opportunity, or both? How to improve the level of understanding of AI by people, policy makers and others? How to improve the level of understanding of people and policy makers by the AI industry? How to improve the ability for recourse and remedies against poorly designed, poorly deployed or poorly used AI? How to make that pro-active and predictive, and not merely retrospective and forensic? What’s the low hanging fruit to address these challenges? And, who should be at the table?

Neil Sahota is an advisor to the UN on AI.

What good can bring robots? How is the convergence robotics and AI changing that? What is the true intent of robotics and robots? Are those developed to assist humans, or to replace them? How to avoid robots are weaponisated, and otherwise can do harm to person or animal? Can an end-user conduit help with that? Who should help with monitoring accountability? What is IoT, and what are consumer IoT products? What data do IoT vendors collect, and which data flows are generated? Why are these often obscure, with no or low levels of accountability? What happens with the data collected by IoT devices? What are possible reasons that vendors not transparant about what they do with customer data? What does that mean for trust and accountability in the IoT ecosystems?

Anna Ida Hudig is a researcher at the University of Cambridge.
